The Feast of the Assumption is an annual tradition at the, largely Italian, Catholic Church in my hometown. 

With an ageing congregation the celebration has been dwindling for decades. The procession in these images is a small blip compared to the carnivals and bandstands that roared past midnight in the church parking lot in years past. This is the last shaddows of a tradition that will likely be lost in the short years to come.
